It’s not about a place. The glistening sandy beaches or snow-filled mountains.
It is not about what is under the tree or how beautifully your home is decorated.
It is about the heart. Jeremiah 17:9-10 “The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked; Who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind,
Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.” Have you humbled yourself before God, confessed your sins and come to Him in faith?
For it is about a place… Bethlehem… the promise fulfilled by God. Micah 5:2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”
It is about Who was born in the lowly stable… Jesus, the Messiah, Son of David. Matthew 1:1 “This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah the son of David, the son of Abraham;” The long awaited Messiah, whose birth was heralded by angels. Luke 2:13-14 ” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
And it is about the cross. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
