O Come O Come Immanuel

Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”

“All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet”(Matthew 1:22). Jesus’ birth foretold. Prophesized. Promised. A Savior. The Messiah. The Deliverer. Immanuel. God with us. A Person. Joseph and Mary, being faithful and obedient to God, are servants of the Most High God, in the birth of His Son, Jesus.

Immanuel. God with us. As human, He can empathize with us in our daily struggles. He knows, understands your pains, grief, struggles. Immanuel. God with us. When we admit we are sinners, in need of a Savior, faithfully trusting Jesus’ finish work at the cross and His resurrection. We now have the Holy Spirit living in us. Immanuel. God with us. Believers. Indwelt by the Holy Spirit. Living uprightly. Under the power of the Holy Spirit. Testifying of our Savior. Striving to be more like Him. Immanuel. God with us. We can pray to the Father. Feel His presence. Read His word. Seek His will.

Be comforted by these words: Immanuel. God with us.

O Come, O Come Immanuel*

1 O come, O come, Immanuel,
and ransom captive Israel
that mourns in lonely exile here
until the Son of God appear.

Refrain:
Rejoice! Rejoice! Immanuel
shall come to you, O Israel.

2 O come, O Wisdom from on high,
who ordered all things mightily;
to us the path of knowledge show
and teach us in its ways to go. Refrain

6 O come, O Bright and Morning Star,
and bring us comfort from afar!
Dispel the shadows of the night
and turn our darkness into light. Refrain

7 O come, O King of nations, bind
in one the hearts of all mankind.
Bid all our sad divisions cease
and be yourself our King of Peace. Refrain
