Psalm 100:4 “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.”
Getting away. Seeing new sights. Finding adventure. Many of us enjoy travel. Yes, there are preparations to make, bags to pack, chores to be done. But once you hit the road, excitement builds. You plan your days, adjust when necessary, enjoy time away.
Coming home can be a let down. You’ve enjoyed the sights, the people. You are coming home to reality. Unpacking is never quite as fun. Chores add up. Only so much time left to do everything.
Once you walk through the door, though, what a feeling. So thankful to be home. Among the familiar- the shower, the bed, the dogs. You sit down and just relax. Ahhhh!
What a blessing from God to be able to travel. To enjoy His creation. Counting it as a blessing, home or away, having a thankful heart.
1 Chronicles 16:34 “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
