Sitting on the deck, looking out at the ocean, I stand in awe of its vastness. The water appears to go on forever, yet I know there is a shoreline to the east of where my eyes are looking. As I read Psalm 33, I am reminded of creation and how God spoke and all things were created, in a literal six day period. “God assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs.” Psalm 33:7 The Psalm goes on to say, in vs 8-9, “Let the whole world fear the Lord, and let everyone stand in awe of him. For when he spoke, the world began! It appeared at his command.”
There are many things we see on this earth and in the heavens that “wow!” us. Let these “wows” turn into praise and worship of our Creator God who, through the power of His Word spoke the earth and heavens into existence.
